Musical Freedom Radio Volume 16

For the 16th edition of the genre defying Musical Freedom Radio, Tiësto’s iconic label invites Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Alvaro to mix things up.

Alvaro returns to the style where his career first began; at origins of the Dutch house movement. Led by artists including Afrojack and Chuckie the subgenre took spark around 2010 putting dance music on the map for the millennial generation and beyond.

Digging deep into his arsenal of Dutch house classics, Alvaro weaves a touch of latin flavor and old school vibes throughout his mix. His own originals “Ultimate Rise,” “Make It Funky” and “Dubbelfris” and his remixes of Chelley - “Took The Night,” Gel Abril - “Spells Of Yoruba” and Usher ft. Will.I.Am - “OMG” are supplemented with house music favorites including Benny Benassi - “Satisfaction,” Sidney Samson - “Riverside,” Robin S - “Show Me Love” and Sharam - “Get Wild,” among others.

Alvaro’s made his mark in the dance music scene for nearly a decade. Discovering his passion for DJing while filming music festivals, he quickly went from editing aftermovies to producing tracks. With most of his time spent in the studio, it didn’t take long before his signature sound was in high demand landing him on some of the world’s most prolific stages with releases on top-notch labels.
